Problems pharmacies face

Many patients, but little money in the account.

In December 2025, private health facilities in Rwanda said some private insurers take 3 to 7 months to pay. While they wait, they use bank overdrafts, and nobody pays them back the interest. The patient pays a small part. The insurer pays the rest only when the claim is complete and followed up.

01

Private insurers pay late

At the end of each month Qonta prepares one claim for each private insurer, as PDF and Excel. You see what each one owes you and how old it is: sent, paid, partly paid, or late after 60 days.

02

Claims are refused for missing details

Insurers say most problems come from missing or wrong information. Qonta records the member number, the insurance class and the prescription during the sale, so the claim is complete.

03

Insurer prices are too low

Insurers do not update their prices when your buying prices go up. Qonta shows what each medicine cost you, next to its selling price.

04

Your licence is at risk

Qonta does not allow a prescription medicine to be sold without the prescription number or the RSSB e-prescription reference, the doctor, the health facility and the date. Your prescription register is always ready for inspection.

At the counter

The claim is ready before the patient leaves.

Choose the insurer and the class, then add the member number and the prescription. The patient pays their part. The rest is recorded as money the insurer owes you.

Built for the counter and the office

Following the rules becomes easy.

A pharmacist said: “If you refuse, the client will go to another pharmacy.” Qonta helps your team follow the rules without making patients wait.

Insurance claims

Know what every insurer owes you.

RSSB, MMI, Mutuelle and private insurers are set up with their rates. RSSB claims go through Kwivuza as they do today; Qonta keeps track of what you submitted and matches what RSSB pays. Each private insurer gets one claim a month, followed until it is paid.
