Three steps to your first entry
Create your account
Open app.qonta.rw. Your business name, your number, a password — and you are in, with nothing to verify and no code to wait for. Or say hello on WhatsApp and it will ask you the same things there.
Record one thing
Whatever happened today. A sale, a purchase, anything. Type it into the dashboard, or send it to WhatsApp as a message, a voice note or a photo. You are keeping books from that moment.
Keep going
Thirty days free. If it is doing its job, subscribe from your profile or reply SUBSCRIBE on WhatsApp, then approve the Mobile Money prompt. Nothing is ever taken automatically.

- A voice note.Listens, then records it.
- A photo of a receipt.Reads the total and the shop.
- A forwarded MoMo message.Records it with the right date and time.
- A bank or Mobile Money statement.Pulls out every entry at once.

5,000,000RWF
No collateral. In your MoMo in 48 hours.
A bank wants a statement you have never had. Qonta wants nothing you have not already written down. Your sales are the application, and the answer comes back in the thread you keep them in.
No bank statement
Your recorded cashflow is the file a lender reads.
No collateral
Nothing of yours is pledged to borrow against your own trading.
Repaid as you sell
A share of what actually comes in. A quiet week costs less.
5,000,000 RWF is the maximum facility; your own limit is set from your recorded trading and starts smaller. The 48 hours runs from approval, and approval is not guaranteed. Credit is offered, priced and approved by BNR-licensed bank and microfinance partners, who set eligibility and terms and show them in full before you accept. Qonta is the underwriting engine, not the lender.

Built for how a real business runs
Every message you send builds the same thing underneath: double-entry accounts, kept the way an accountant keeps them. You never have to look at it. It is why Qonta can hand a lender a balance sheet instead of a promise.

What Qonta now does on its own
“Fanta”, “Inyange” and “Bralirwa” all file under Drinks. Anything from Kimironko Market files under Stock. Payments to Eric N. are supplier costs, not sales. Amounts over 200,000 RWF get read back for confirmation before they're recorded.
Your books are your loan application
Keep recording and Qonta builds a credit-readiness score from the sales you already have. No bank statement to chase. No collateral demanded. Financing up to 5,000,000 RWF, offered, priced and approved by BNR-licensed bank and microfinance partners on their own terms.
What you get
Credit readiness
Almost there
- BuildingThe record is young. Keep recording.
- Almost thereEnough history to read, not yet enough to lend against.
- ReadyYour books can be put in front of a partner.

How the score is built
Your track record
How long you have been recording, and how far back the history goes.
Your recording consistency
Whether the entries keep coming, or arrive in bursts and stop.
Your cashflow stability
How steady what comes in is against what goes out.
Your monthly activity volume
How much trade actually passes through the books each month.
Important
Qonta is not a lender. Credit is offered, priced and approved by BNR-licensed bank and microfinance partners. They set your eligibility, your limit, and your terms.

Invoices carry your TIN and your customer's, so they hold as tax documents. EBM integration with RRA is in progress. Once approved, Qonta will transmit your sales to RRA automatically. VAT is a separate matter and only compulsory above 20M RWF a year.

Still stuck? Message us on WhatsApp. A person replies — this one is not the bot.
Message Qonta on WhatsApp: type it (“sold goods 5000” or “paid rent 30000”), send a voice note, forward your mobile-money message, or snap a photo of the receipt. Qonta reads it, records it, and categorizes it for you instantly. You can also type it straight into the dashboard at app.qonta.rw, or upload a whole MoMo statement and have Qonta pull the entries out of it.
No, and you will not have to. Everything works in your browser at app.qonta.rw and on WhatsApp, the app you already have. A Qonta mobile app is on the way for people who would rather have one on their home screen, but it will always be an option and never a requirement — the same account and the same books, whichever way you open them.
No. You can create your account at app.qonta.rw with a password and never open WhatsApp, recording, invoices, reports and everything else work in the browser. Most Rwandan businesses start on WhatsApp because it is the fastest way to record a sale between customers, but it is a choice rather than a requirement, and signing in never depends on a message arriving.
Not at all. Qonta keeps the records for you and answers in plain language. Just ask things like “How am I doing this month?” or “Who owes me?” and you'll get a clear answer back.
Solo is 9,500 RWF/month for a single owner and one phone. Team is 14,500 RWF/month for an owner plus up to 5 staff who all record into one shared set of books. Business covers unlimited phones and is priced on request. Your first 30 days are free, pay yearly and you only pay for 10 months, and you can cancel anytime. There is no setup fee and no contract. You pay by Mobile Money when you are ready and nothing is ever taken automatically, because you approve the prompt yourself every time.
Yes. Text Qonta something like “invoice Ineza Boutique: social media management 350000, content shoot 12 hours at 12500” and you get back a professional PDF with your logo, your business details, your MoMo or bank details and a due date, ready to forward to your client. Qonta then tracks it for you: it counts what they owe, records part-payments as they come in, reminds you before the due date and while it's late, and turns the invoice into a receipt the moment it's fully paid. You can also create and manage invoices at app.qonta.rw.
Your books are the application. As you record sales and expenses, Qonta builds a loan-readiness score from your real cash flow, so there's no bank statement to produce and nothing to pledge as collateral. Ask in the chat, and the decision comes back in the same thread; approved money goes to your MoMo and is repaid as a share of what you sell, so a quiet week costs less. Credit is offered, priced and approved by BNR-licensed bank and microfinance partners, who set your eligibility, limit and terms and show them in full before you accept. Qonta is the underwriting engine that makes good borrowers visible, not the lender.
Your limit is set by the BNR-licensed partner from your recorded trading history, and it starts small and grows as your record lengthens. Any fees or interest are the partner's and are shown to you in full before you accept anything. Qonta adds no charge of its own on top of a facility, and nothing is deducted without your acceptance in the chat.
Your invoices carry your TIN and your customer's, so they hold as tax documents. EBM integration with RRA is in progress: it is built and waiting on approval, and once that lands Qonta will transmit your sales to RRA automatically. Until then it does not, and you should keep filing the way you file today. VAT is a separate matter and is only compulsory above 20M RWF of turnover a year, so it does not apply to most businesses starting on Qonta.
Your records live on servers located in Rwanda. Every connection is encrypted end to end, and administrative accounts use multi-factor authentication. Backups are taken daily and retained for 14 days. Your books are yours: you can export them to Excel or PDF at any time, and you keep that right for 30 days after your subscription ends.
